Join us as a Senior Security Engineer. In this role, you will lead an engineering team based in Transinne, a village in the Belgian municipality of Libin, and in Redu, close to the European Space Agency’s (ESA) activities.
You will have the opportunity to work in a challenging environment with state-of-the-art technologies within the cybersecurity and space domains. As Senior Security Engineer, you will be involved in the design, development, and management of our advanced cybersecurity services, as well as in the delivery of complex cybersecurity solutions. You will also oversee a team of engineers and act as a technical leader.

Tasks and Activities
The scope of work will include:
- Provide support and leadership in engineering projects from inception to completion.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and meet high-quality standards.
- Help to continuously improve deliverables, efficiency, and strategy.
- Design and deliver classified systems.
- Design of secure architecture encompassing firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN, AAA, encryption, etc.
- Design security solutions following a security-by-design approach.
- Lead and manage an engineering team tasked with designing and implementing tailored solutions.
- Conduct annual performance reviews to assess team productivity and individual development.
- Mentor team members, ensuring professional growth and maintaining a high level of team morale.
- Foster a collaborative environment that aligns with strategic business goals.
Skills and Experience
The following skills and experience are mandatory:
- University Degree or equivalent in computer science, engineering, IT, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Senior Security Engineer or as a Senior Network Security Engineer, preferably in an international environment.
- Experience managing an engineering team.
- Relevant experience on complex systems engineering projects, with a specific focus on:
- Design of security architectures encompassing SIEM, intrusion detection systems, firewalls, anti-virus software, log management, authentication systems, content filtering, etc.;
- Certification and Accreditation concepts and processes;
- Verification and Validation concepts and processes;
- Cybersecurity concepts involving threat, vulnerability and risk analysis;
- Information Technology and Operations Technology (IT/OT) system security.
- Design of security architectures encompassing SIEM, intrusion detection systems, firewalls, anti-virus software, log management, authentication systems, content filtering, etc.;
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience on a range of cybersecurity operations systems and solutions, including, for example, CTI, Threat Hunting, Information Security policies and procedures, IT/OT.
- Experience with best practices and standards like: ISO27000, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISA62443, NIS directive, Common Criteria.
- A professional qualification or certification such as CISSP.
- Ability to build relationships with colleagues and work cooperatively with others to achieve goals.
- Excellent written and spoken communication in English and preferably another European language.
