Join us as a Security Engineer Expert. This position will be based in Redu, Belgium, and will be part of the Nexova engineering team working on C-SOC system for the European Space Agency’s (ESA).
Tasks and Activities
The scope of work will include:
- Monitoring and managing project execution to ensure timely delivery, scope adherence, and consistent operational quality.
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of system performance, operational efficiency, and service delivery processes.
- Deploying, maintaining, and operating up to classified systems in line with security, operational, and documentation standards.
- Administering and supporting infrastructure components ranging from bare‑metal to applications, including network, virtualisation, cloud, storage, and backup systems.
- Fostering cross‑team collaboration to align operations with strategic objectives and service delivery goals.
Skills and Experience
The following skills and experience are mandatory:
- University degree or equivalent experience in computer science, engineering, IT, or a related field.
- Proven senior‑level experience in systems administration/engineering or network security, preferably in an international context.
- Experience in complex systems engineering, including security architecture design, certification and validation, cyber risk analysis, and IT/OT security.
- Hands‑on experience with scripting and automation using Ansible, Bash, Python, and PowerShell.
- Strong background in PKI, certificate lifecycle management, and IAM/PAM.
- Excellent capability in managing Unix/Linux‑based systems and virtualisation environments.
- Capacity to read, understand and troubleshoot complex network infrastructures.
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity operations, including CTI, information security policies, and IT/OT security.
- Good comprehension of best practices and standards like: ISO27000, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISA62443, Common Criteria, FIPS.
- A professional qualification or certification such as CASP+/CISSP/RHCA/RHCE/MCSE/MCSA.
- Eligible to undergo the ESA and EU secret security clearance procedures.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
