Join us as SOC Manager. This position will be based at our Cybersecurity Center of Excellence in Transinne, a village in the Belgian municipality of Libin.
The SOC Manager leads and coordinates the Security Operations Center (SOC) to ensure high quality, reliable, and scalable cybersecurity monitoring and incident response services. This role is accountable for day-to-day SOC operations, people leadership, process maturity, and service performance in line with client SLAs and organizational cyber defense standards.
The SOC Manager plays a key role in translating strategy into operational excellence, ensuring the SOC delivers consistent detection, analysis, escalation, and response across client and internal environments.
Tasks and Activities
The scope of work will include:
SOC Operations & Service Delivery
- Leading daily SOC operations across Tier 1–3 analysts and SOC engineers.
- Ensuring 24/7 shift coverage, workload balance, and SLA compliance.
- Monitoring incident detection, triage, escalation, and response governance.
- Maintaining and continuously improving SOC procedures, playbooks, and KPI’s.
- Ensuring quality and consistency of alert handling and incident reporting.
People Leadership & Capability Development
- Managing, coaching, and developing SOC analysts and engineers.
- Defining performance objectives, conducting regular reviews, and supporting career development.
- Building training and continuous improvement plans to increase SOC maturity and analyst effectiveness.
- Fostering a high-performing, resilient, and engaged SOC team.
Service Management & Client Engagement
- Owning operational onboarding and offboarding of SOC clients and services.
- Providing operational input for client governance meetings and service reviews.
- Delivering internal and external reporting on threats, incidents, SOC performance, and trends.
- Supporting audits, compliance reviews, and evidence collection as SOC representative.
Process, Tooling & Continuous Improvement
- Driving operational improvements based on metrics, incidents, and lessons learned.
- Collaborating with other internals teams to improve SOC service.
- Identifying opportunities for automation, efficiency gains (by implementing new tools/process) and false-positive reduction.
Planning, Budget & Stakeholder Coordination
- Preparing and following up SOC budget forecasts and resource planning.
- Monitoring service costs and operational efficiency (non-final budget ownership).
- Escalating major incidents, SLA breaches, or staffing risks to senior management.
Skills and Experience
The following skills and experience are mandatory:
- 7+ years in cybersecurity operations, including SOC or incident response.
- 3+ years in a leadership or management role within a SOC environment.
- Hands-on understanding of SIEM, SOAR, EDR, threat detection, and incident handling workflows.
- Strong knowledge of SOC processes, SLAs, escalation models, and operational reporting.
- Experience operating in regulated or enterprise environments.
- Proven people manager experience with strong coaching and performance management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical issues into clear, actionable insights.
- Structured, process-oriented mindset with a focus on operational excellence.
- Calm, resilient decision maker under pressure.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
The following skills and experience would be highly desirable:
- Degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GCIA, GCIH, or similar are a plus.
