An ultra-secure infrastructure for digital resilience
Press release: Transinne (Libin), 1 September 2025
Nexova, a leading Belgian player in critical infrastructure cybersecurity, today inaugurates its new Cybersecurity Centre of Excellence. Located in Libin, in the province of Luxembourg, it is situated within an environment that already hosts strategic facilities in the fields of space and cybersecurity. With this new infrastructure, the company confirms its commitment to strengthening the sovereign cyber capabilities of Belgium and Europe.
A high-tech building unique in Europe
This new 3,300m² building represents a 100% Belgian investment of €20 million and has received support from the Walloon region. Designed by ASSAR, the same architectural firm that designed the NATO headquarters and the Belgian Defence Staff headquarters, the centre combines the highest security standards with modern design. It incorporates a state-of-the-art technological infrastructure and advanced cyber capabilities:
- A next generation cyber-range designed to test the resilience of digital systems and train personnel in real-life conditions
- Highly secure working environments and data centres for civilian or military use
- A security operations centre (SOC) providing continuous (24/7) monitoring of cyber threats and rapid incident management
- A technology lab dedicated to research into secure connectivity solutions for the future, particularly in the face of quantum threats and electronic warfare.
Comprehensive solutions to protect critical infrastructures
Beyond its infrastructure, this Centre embodies Nexova's expertise, which is already being employed by leading Belgian and European institutions. The company designs and develops solutions that meet essential cybersecurity needs, from testing the vulnerabilities of digital systems to detecting and responding to cyberattacks.
Because human error remains one of the most exploited vulnerabilities, Nexova also places staff training and education at the heart of its approach. It offers immersive programmes for both the technical and management teams of its clients. Based on realistic scenarios – such as a virtual train derailment, sabotage of an industrial network or detection of a cyberattack on a space system – these programmes prepare staff to respond effectively in critical situations.
Innovating to meet the needs of today and tomorrow
In a world where cyber threats are constantly evolving and becoming more complex, Nexova is investing in research and development for new secure connectivity solutions that use quantum key distribution (QKD) to be resistant to quantum computing, as well as the protection of strategic communications in a context of electronic warfare through radio frequency intrusion testing (RF pen testing).
Thanks to its next generation cyber-range, the company can also recreate realistic operational environments to test and validate complex systems in a secure setting before deploying them in the field. In this way, Nexova is already developing solutions that will enable its customers to remain resilient in the face of threats in the coming decades.
Strengthening Belgian and European sovereign capabilities
With sites in Transinne, Wavre and Diegem, Nexova draws on more than 30 years of experience in space engineering combined with recognised expertise in the cybersecurity of complex systems. This complementary approach enables it to design and operate sovereign solutions in line with the priorities of the European Union and NATO.
"With this new Cybersecurity Centre, we are strengthening Nexova's role as a strategic Belgian player at the heart of critical infrastructure security. Securing the essentials – whether energy, transport or telecommunications – means protecting the very foundations of our society. As a Belgian company, we are proud to put our expertise at the service of cybersecurity in Europe," says Gaëtan Desclée, CEO of the Starion and Nexova Group.
Finally, this new location will have a direct impact on the local economy: by 2026, nearly 100 experts will join the Transinne site. These new recruits will help strengthen Belgium's position as a major cybersecurity hub in Europe.
