We are looking for an Infrastructure Security Engineer to join our SOC team working for the European Space Agency in Redu.
You will have the opportunity to work in a challenging environment with state-of-the-art techologies within the cybersecurity and space domains. As an Infrastructure Security Engineer, you will be involved in the design, development and maintenance of our advanced cybersecurity services, as well as in the delivery of complex cybersecurity solutions.
Tasks and Activities
The scope of work will include:
- Providing operational support across environments, ensuring systems run smoothly from deployment through ongoing maintenance.
- Monitoring and managing project execution to ensure timely delivery, adherence to scope, and consistent quality in operational outcomes.
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of system performance, operational efficiency, and service delivery processes.
- Maintaining and operating classified systems, ensuring compliance with security protocols, operational standards and project documentation.
- Administering and supporting infrastructure components from bare-metal to Applications on Firewalls, SIEMs, Routers, Switches, Load Balancers, Virtualization platforms, Cloud environments, Storage and Backup systems, IAM tools, Sandboxes, Scanners and more.
- Promoting collaboration across teams and services to ensure operational alignment with strategic business objectives and service delivery goals.
- Participating in a rotating on‑call schedule to support operational needs.
Skills and Experience
The following skills and experience are mandatory:
- University Degree or equivalent experience in computer science, engineering, IT, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Senior Systems Administrator/Engineer or as a Senior Network Security Engineer, preferably in an international environment.
- Experience in complex systems engineering, covering security architecture (SIEM, IDS, firewalls, EDR), C&A, V&V, cybersecurity risk analysis, and IT/OT security.
- Knowledge in scripting and automation tools such as Ansible/Bash/Python/Powershell.
- Background in PKI / Certificate lifecycle/management and IAM/PAM.
- High-degree of experience managing nix based systems and virtualization environments.
- Capacity to read, understand and troubleshoot complex network infrastructures.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience on a range of cybersecurity operations systems and solutions, including, for example, CTI, Information Security policies and procedures, IT/OT.
- Experience with best practices and standards like: ISO27000, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISA62443, NIS directive, Common Criteria.
- A professional qualification or certification such as CASP+/CISSP/RHCA/RHCE/MCSE/MCSA.
- Ability to support colleagues and work cooperatively with others to achieve goals.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Eligible to undergo the ESA and EU secret security clearance procedure.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
